So I am slowly trying to gain some confidence when it comes to makeup.. so this is a huge step for me.
This is my first makeup post of hopefully more to come!
I just feel that it is better to get it out there and help me learn and help me to become a better makeup artist!
I saw this look on pinterest and became completely obsessed and needed to try it.
As you can see, it is no where near perfect but, it is me learning new tricks.
My pictures wash out the color a bit, but I think you'll get the idea! xx
And below are two more in natural light (excuse the rack of clothes!)
Down below are some pictures of the products I used and how I used them step by step! x
1. I started with my eyes and put some tape on the sides to help me achieve a perfect line, help aide the cat eye and keep from the eyeshadow from falling.
I always begin by warming up the eyes with my usual base which is the peachy/nude color (2nd from the left on the top row) and blend it out on my crease and the all over my eyelid. After that I decided to put in something lighter in the inner corner of my eye in order to help balance out the black that will be used later. For that step I used a blend of the white and nude/shimmer eyeshadow (the first two from the right/first row).
2. Next to bring in the darkness! I started out with a small precision brush and lightly dipped it in the black shadow and began to extend the shadow along the tape for that cat eye effect. Then I outlined half of the crease of my eye starting from the outer corner and stopping mid way.
After that I got my blending eye brush and added a bit more black and started smoking out the corner of my eye BUT staying in the line I had previously created. Again, keep it closer and darker by the outer corner of your eye.
Following the black I used the same brush and dabbed on some of the dark silver shadow to help blend the black shadow a bit more evenly and to add a bit more sparkle, as Amber has.
*do not let these colors spread into the inner corner of your eye! *

3. Next I carefully used some liquid liner to create a very bold, thick line on my lid. I didn't extend it into a cat eye as Amber's look is much more about the shadow extending outwards rather than the liner.
I slowly built up the line to get it how I wanted. Start very thin and add on more, working more on the outer edges.
4. After I applied the liquid liner I felt like I wanted a bit more of a sparkle so I grabbed this NYX roll on shimmer eyeshadow and dabbed some on the back of my hand and used an eyeshadow brush to lightly apply it to the outer edges of my eye.
5. After that, I removed the tape and applied some mascara and then went on to apply my foundation mixed with illuminator, concealer, and powder. I then went ahead and contoured a slight bit with a powder 4 shades darker then my natural skin tone and brushed it out and blended underneath my cheek bones. Next I applied a neutral blush.
6. Lastly I applied a nude lipliner and a rose-gold lipgloss and finished!
If you made it this far, THANK YOU! Let me know what you think.
